Osmanthus - new monograph

Appreciated by luxury perfume makers for its complex and distinctive fragrance and prized by aromatherapists for its effects on the nervous and emotional systems, Osmanthus absolute is made from the delicate flowers of the evergreen shrub Osmanthus fragrans. Native to Asia, especially China, Osmanthus blooms in clusters of yellow or orange flowers that exude a captivating fragrance, often described as a floral-balsamic blend of apricot, peach, honey and creamy vanilla, with subtle hints of musk. The extraction process is incredibly laborious and it takes around 3,000 kilograms of flowers to produce a single kilogram of absolute, which explains its high cost and exclusivity.

Whether used to ennoble a fragrance or add a touch of elegance to a skincare formula, just a few drops of Osmanthus absolute can transform a simple blend into a special olfactory experience, embodying beauty, luxury and tranquility.
